A Month Ago Today...

I was in shock. Numbly sitting through my advanced clinical orientation. The news was still barely setting in. A month ago my dear brother was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

I never, ever imagined that someone in my family - let alone my healthy, athletic brother - would be diagnosed with cancer. I had this mindset of "yes, yes it happens but it wont happen to my family. I mean, we are healthy! We eat right, exercise, etc etc."

A month ago today was the beginning of the single most awful week I have lived and hope to ever live. I have never cried or prayed so hard in my life. But, God is good and it was all a month ago. Yes, we have a L-O-N-G journey ahead of us. It isnt going to be easy for Jethenro, for us either but we serve a mighty God. I pray that we learn what we He is wanting to teach us through this experience. Will you join me?

  1. Well, I can tell you that I'm learning to pray as I never have before because of this experience! And I'm learning that no one is immune from suffering or disease in this sinful world. But praise God, we have another World to look forward to! Love you!
